I keep my pills in a drawer in the bathroom, I also keep my make-up in that same drawer. Monkey is just tall enough to be a little to interested in what is inside the drawers around our house. This morning while I was getting ready she was playing in the drawer, after a while she just walked out of the bathroom and out into the livingroom. Next thing I know Luke is cracking up apparently she stole my birth control pills and eye liner (as a side note he called it mascara pen…. a good attempt but not even close).

Then while walking around an outdoor mall she was stopped in her tracks by the window display on Bebe. No the window didn’t contain cute little puppy dogs or brightly colored toys just a row of manikins wearing graphic T’s and tight jeans. She stared in that window for a good 3 or 4 minutes, which by the way is an eternity for a 13 month old. I had no idea that she had such a thing for skinny jeans. I guess I figured that she didn’t much care what I dressed her in.

I thought I had at least another 8-10 years before she became so upscale (expensive) brand focused, not mention interested in make-up. And I thought for sure that I would have more time before she was looking into contraception.

Of course she has no idea what any eye liner pencil is. In reality she probably just likes the noise the pills make when the move around in their plastic. And as far as Bebe is concerned it was most likely her own reflection that caught her attention but, the events of the day got me thinking. In reality she is going to grow up much faster then I would like her to, and in no time she will be putting on make-up and picking out prom dresses.

So the question that I pose to you is this… Is there anything that I can do to slow all of this down? Is there any way to keep her as my little baby, forever?
