Leftovers are a major part of my life. Luke likes leftovers for lunch everyday so I make almost every meal with the goal of having enough for a hungry guy left over for the next day. Maddy has started requesting that she get her dinner in her lunch box the next day as well. She takes after her daddy in many ways and her appetite is just one of them. One way to make leftovers a little easier to eat out of a bento box is to use cute little bento box food picks like the blue giraffe in the picture above. It can do double duty as a whimsical touch of decoration and a fun fork all in one.

What’s in the Bento Box: Pasta with Meatball

  • Homemade meatball, quartered for easier eating
  • Leftover whole wheat pasta with marinara sauce
  • Pineapple
  • Strawberry hearts
  • Carrot sticks
  • Broccoli
  • Organic fruit leather cut into small strips
