    Springtime rainbow craft

Spring has sprung! Hip hip hooray spring is here! Spring is in the air! Actually as I type this there is 4 or 5 inches of snow in the ground and more falling from the sky. More like blowing sideways as it falls from the sky. Alas, this is spring in Colorado. Days of 60 degree weather lead up to a big old snow storm. I’m not complaining though. We need it and honestly spring snow is the prettiest snow. Even though this sort of weather is par for the course in Colorado it doesn’t

Color sorting activity and craft. Rainbows are perfect for spring and St. Patrick's Day!

Spring is so close. Can you feel it? We still have to make it through the last bits of snow that are sure to come in March and April in Colorado but spring is kind of in the air. So I have spring holidays and spring sights and sounds on the brain. Rainbows and flowers, Saint Patrick’s Day and Easter, rainy days and warm sunshine. I am so ready! The great thing about spring crafts and spring activities is so many of them work for spring in general and a holiday or two also. The

    Indian Corn Paint Colors

A lot of fall crafts revolve around pumpkins or turkeys. There isn’t anything wrong with turkeys, pumpkins or leaves for that matter. I like fall leaves, Halloween pumpkins and cute turkeys. You know what I feel is under represented in the preschool crafts arena? Indian corn. It’s unique, colorful and quite frankly beautiful. Indian Corn Craft Supplies: Paint in a variety of colors ( I mixed colors to make brown, golden yellow, maroon, gray blue, burnt orange, yellow and white.) Yellow construction paper dark colored maker paint brushes 1 sheet small sized bubble wrap cut

    handprint wreath

Sometimes I will hear someone say something and from that little statement or thought the beginnings of an idea is born. Sometimes it’s a recipe. Sometimes it’s a craft. Sometimes it’s a gift. You get the idea. Not so long ago we had stopped by to visit my grandparents for a bit. During that visit my Grandma mentioned that she didn’t really have Halloween decorations, just Thanksgiving decorations. I thought to myself there surely must be a way for my Grandma to have some cute decorations that would work for both Halloween and Thanksgiving. Something

    Fall Pumpkin Activity Supplies

We have been taking fall and trying to use it to the fullest for learning, crafting and fun around here. I decided to take some extra pumpkin seeds and a few pumpkins and turn it into a couple of activities to keep the girls busy recently. In the process I also got to draw silly pumpkins with my favorite writing utensil. A sharpie. It’s the little things that keep me happy. Pumpkin Seed Counting Supplies: Paper Marker Crayons Glue Pumpkin Seeds leftover from pumpkin carving, pie making or snacking. To start off our activity we

    l if for leaf 2

Armed with her bucket and her snow boots Maddy set off through our neighborhood to find leaves. What three-year-old wants to look for leaves? Well, mine. After I told her how fun and exciting it will be, of course. All the colors scattered around the neighborhood did make our hunt fun and exciting. “Look Mama, I found a RED one. A really RED one.” Why search for leaves? L-l-l-l-leaves start with the letter L. I bet you knew that already though. However Maddy did not. She does now. Supplies needed for L is if Leaf
